Here are Stuart A. and Clare B. with their finished IKAT weaving projects. It’s a unique weaving and painting process we’ve been experimenting with in our Art & Craft Workshop. We painted our plan warps based on sketchbook drawings, then woven the dyed yarn to create fabric. For further reading on this type of weaving, please visit this website – https://theswatchbook.offsetwarehouse.com/2015/08/28/need-know-ikat-weaving/
The new year means new but fun challenges ahead, so what better way to get together and to get our “little grey cells” working than a quiz night! Big thanks to our quiz-master Tom, residents Alan T., Alison F., Andrew M., Chloe A., Eleanor B., Lee S, Freddy P., Mark C., Mark F. for contributing the quiz questions! Around 30 residents, co-workers and staff took part in the quiz night, and we all had great fun. Congratulations to The Woods house for winning a prize of £100 worth of cinema tickets!
In our Newsletter Workshop we are the journalists and reporters of our community. The monthly newsletter features community events and gatherings, important events outside Camphill, talented residents with their artistic creations and anything that happens in the Chrysalis Theatre. The stories are accompanied by Alex’s own photos which are published on his blog, our community blog and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Read all about what we get up to during the workshop and download the latest CMKC Newsletter Issue 53!
